TUESDAY TREADLERS – AUGUST 11, 2020

Our weather people are suggesting that we should carry our rain top on Tuesday as there may be a shower or two

With the present social distancing rules we have limited options for our mid-morning coffee break. The Cudlee Creek Cafe can usually accommodate us all, so we can meet there around 11.00 am as usual. Start in Balhannah Oval at 9.30 am.

From time to time a few of our riders are concerned with the careless riding of some in our group, especially riding more than 2 abreast and even on the wrong side of the continual central line.  Might be a good time to check the appropriate road rules.   DPTI-Cycling-and-the-Law-Booklet

We have riders in our group who are members of the AHMCC.  If you enjoy a faster ride why not take advantage of a free trial ride sometime.

TUESDAY TREADLERS – AUGUST 4, 2020

It’s been a long time since our last away ride, so it will be great to meet at one of our popular alternative start locations and mid-ride coffee venues for our August away ride.

Meet in MYLOR OVAL for the 9.30 am start and head down to Meadows for a social coffee break in the Mawson House Cafe somewhere around 11.00 am.  The attached sketch map shows the suggested route:    TT AUG. 4, 2020

TUESDAY TREADLERS – JULY 28, 2020

It’s been a long time since we enjoyed our coffee break on top of Mt Lofty. We start in Balhannah Oval at 9.30 am, with mid-morning break in the Summit Bistro somewhere around 11.00 am.

As usual the sketch map of the suggested route can be found at: TT JULY 28, 2020

Numerous options to extend your ride by checking these on the map before starting.   Not really many options for a short-cut on the outward ride unless you plan for even more climbing  –  Mt Lofty is only 392 metres higher than Balhannah, so it will be interesting to see who can get closest to this.

The group of cyclists man in road bicycle racing go to the mountain.

SEE YOU ON TUESDAY

You may not recognise the back entrance to the Laratinga Cafe off the Laratinga Trail in Mt Barker with all the outside changes. Even at the side and the front there are changes, the only thing still the same is they are expecting us around 11.00 am for coffee break.  Leave Balhannah Oval at 9.30 am as usual.

The sketch map of the suggested route (with optional extras if preferred) can be found on: TT 21 JULY 2020

A shortcut along Mappinga Road on the return, but the giant magpie started attacking at the end of July last year. Be careful.

TUESDAY TREADLERS – JULY 14, 2020

With the current restrictions it is impossible to locate a mid-ride coffee venue able to house all our riders, so the only option is to head somewhere with a choice of venues, so this week it’s up to Gumeracha with three places where you can choose to enjoy your coffee.

Meet in Balhannah Oval for the 9.30 am start.   Sketch Map: OPTIONAL ROUTES

There will need to be changes next week as to how our rides are organised.
