No, not a group of Tuesday Treadlers.  Just one of our frequent routes leaving Balhannah which has become quite popular.

Tuesday Treadlers – February 4, 2020

Pleasing to see that the two somewhat undernourished Tuesday Treadlers riders have been located and will be joining our rides again shortly.  Thanks to SAPOL.

Tuesday Treadlers – January 21, 2020

TourDownUnder2004

For many years in the past we always enjoyed good support for a special away ride to watch the opening stage of the Tour Down Under in the Barossa region, meeting  in Williamstown, Lyndoch , Springton and other locations.  However, in the past two or three years hardly any of our riders have shown interest, preferring to do their own thing.

So if you are not doing your own thing there is a normal ride starting in Balhannah Oval at 9.30 am. and heading to the Laratinga Cafe in Mount Barker via the challenging Laratinga Trail. Coffee time around 11.00 am.

Two optional suggested routes are shown on the sketch map:  TT Jan. 21, 2020

Tuesday Treadlers – January 14, 2020

Lots of the items in the Cudlee Cafe are grown or produced by locals, many having been affected by the recent fires. So this Tuesday we are dropping in for our mid-ride coffee break.  Babette is looking forward to our visit around 11.00 am.

Cudlee Cafe

Usual start from Balhannah Oval at 9.30 am.  Two suggested optional routes. Fox Creek Road has been closed for a while for clean up work, so may not be a convenient shortcut.       TT Jan. 14, 2020

Derek Wells’ wife Lyn would like us to promote the following.

WOMEN’S TOUR DOWN UNDER

Echunga is hosting Stage 1 WOMEN’S Tour Down Under 3 sprint point finishes in our little village with the wonderful wide and long Main Street on Thursday 16 January 2020.

As a member of the Echunga Community Association, we are planning to promote the women’s event to our locality and hopefully wider audience by the “theme it’s all natural”.

Living walls of potted yellow and orange flowers, decorated trees, bikes and fences with non plastic decorations.

Fresh fruit will be handed out to kids rather than junk foods.

There are 2 good coffee outlets now and the Hagen Arms is doing good meals now in an atmospheric old country pub.

I would like you to please spread the message through your group that Echunga would really appreciate some cyclists in the street to cheer on the women.

Cyclists pass through 3 times between 10am and 1.15 pm.

You would add to the street atmosphere and maybe create some interest in the sport of cycling.
